Our Adelaide Hatha Yoga classes consist of physical exercises (asana) and breath
control (pranayama). The exercises can be static or slow
moving stretches followed by a period of relaxation.
They can also be strenuous, fast and may include repetitive
exercises that resemble calisthenics and gymnastics. Yoga
exercises are most beneficial when strength and vigor are
balanced with flexibility and relaxation.
Students of yoga gradually become accustomed to hearing and
using sanskrit terms and names, such as “asanas” for
exercise, or posture.
“Sanskrit” is the classic language of yoga, having evolved
from the early languages of Europe and
India.
The names of yoga postures often describe activities and
objects from daily life and living. They also include
animals, plants and elements from our natural environment,
reminding us of our connectedness with our surroundings and
oneness with all things.
So to experience the benefits of Yoga, come along to our classes at Blackwood Fitness Adelaide.
