HATHA YOGA CLASSES ADELAIDE

Hatha Yoga classes are held regularly at Blackwood Fitness Adelaide and is approximately 15 to 20 minutes from the CBD Adelaide.

Hatha Yoga is a physical activity that uses an awareness of the breath to link, unify and balance the many aspects of the body and mind, allowing them to operate as one functional unit.

These are the main components of Hatha Yoga:

ü  Stretching

ü  Isometric strengthening

ü  Isotonic strengthening

ü  Isokinetic strengthening

ü  Joint range of movement exercises

ü  One-legged (balance) exercises

ü  Cardiovascular (aerobic) conditioning

ü  Breathing awareness

ü  Unilateral nostril breathing

ü  Sense control

ü  Concentration

ü  Relaxation

ü  Visualisation

ü  Meditation

Our Adelaide Hatha Yoga classes consist of physical exercises (asana) and breath control (pranayama). The exercises can be static or slow moving stretches followed by a period of relaxation.

They can also be strenuous, fast and may include repetitive exercises that resemble calisthenics and gymnastics. Yoga exercises are most beneficial when strength and vigor are balanced with flexibility and relaxation.

Students of yoga gradually become accustomed to hearing and using sanskrit terms and names, such as “asanas” for exercise, or posture.

“Sanskrit” is the classic language of yoga, having evolved from the early languages of Europe and India.

The names of yoga postures often describe activities and objects from daily life and living. They also include animals, plants and elements from our natural environment, reminding us of our connectedness with our surroundings and oneness with all things.

So to experience the benefits of Yoga, come along to our classes at Blackwood Fitness Adelaide.
