Fit ball exercise workouts are a group class which is designed to improve your balance and core stability with the use of a fit ball and optional use of weights. This class will challenge every muscle in your body.
What will it do for me ?
Fit Ball uses principles developed by physiotherapists working with people with poor core strength. The fit ball provides an unstable base which encourages the participant to engage their core abdominal muscles during the work out. Therefore, Fit Ball classes will help to improve core strength, tone the body and increase fitness levels.
How hard is it?
Fit Ball is suitable for beginners to advanced fitness levels.
What is a typical Fit Ball Exercise Workout class like?
A typical Fit Ball class will follow the following format:
1. Warm up - 5-10 minutes of simple aerobics moves using the fit ball. The pace is easy and the moves are simple.
2. Cardio section- 20-30 minutes of strength work either sitting on, lying on or holding the fit ball. The use of bands or hand weights may also be included in this section.
3. Recovery and stretch - Recovery to lower the heart rate and then stretch the muscles.
What do I need to bring?
Bring a water bottle and a towel. Wear comfortable clothes and suitable sport shoes.
How often should I do Fit Ball ?
If you do Fit Ball two to three times per week you will feel fitter, stronger and leaner. You could mix Fit Ball with some of the other classes offered on the timetable for a well rounded weekly work out routine.
