What is Indoor Group Training (IGT)?

45-60 minutes
IGT is a class based on the principles of interval training. It features both cardio vascular exercise and resistance training. This class is designed to condition the muscles while burning fat and increasing fitness.
The instructor uses exercise stations and simple, easy to follow aerobic moves to give the participants a well rounded complete work out.
What will it do for me ?
IGT helps burn fat and increase fitness levels by increasing the heart rate. The inclusion of strength exercises using hand weights, bands or fit balls will also help with toning and strength.
How hard is it?
Low- Medium
IGT is suitable for all fitness levels and is suitable for beginners.
What is a typical IGT class like?
A typical IGT class will follow the following format:
1. Warm up - 5-10 minutes of gentle aerobics moves which warms up the legs and increases core temperature. The pace is easy and the moves are simple.
2. Cardio section- 15-20 minutes of simple aerobic moves, exercise stations or shuttle runs. The pace is a little faster to assist in an increase in heart rate.
3. Strength and toning- 10-15 minutes of sculpting exercises using either hand weights, bands or fit balls. This section may include squats, pushups, abdominal work or a challenging combination of all of the above.
4. Recovery and stretch - Recovery to lower the heart rate and then stretch the muscles.
