What is TABATA TRAINING?

This style of training originated in Japan. It involves 8 sets of 20 minute sprints with 10 second rests. The 30 minute class includes 5 tabata sets. Ideal for sports training, Tabata is a really quick way of getting fitter and burning callories. An ideal class for the less coordinated member.

What will it do for me?

TABATA will quickly improve your cardio vascular fitness, burn fat and tone and shape the body.

How hard is it?

Medium- High

TABATA is quite a challenging work out and is suitable for mediun to high fitness levels.  Options are always offered.

What is a typical class like?

A typical TABATA TRAINING class will follow the following format:

1. Warm up - 5-10 minutes of gentle aerobics moves which warms up the legs and increases core temperature. The pace is easy and the moves are simple.

2. TABATA sets- 24minutes of high intensity sprints.  Exercises include push ups, running, burpies or core work, the options are endless.

3. Recovery and stretch - Recovery to lower the heart rate and then stretch the muscles.

What do I need to bring?

Bring a water bottle and a towel. Wear comfortable clothes and suitable sport shoes.

How often should I do TABATA?

If you do TABATA once a week and include it in your weekly gym training you will get fitter and stronger.
